Today Honor has launched their new and upgraded website hihonor.com which will offer all the latest Honor tech at the best possible prices.

The new shopping experience is launching with a limited time sale for members (from 21st-28th May) featuring an array of its newest and best-selling products such as the MagicWatch and MagicBook, led by the Honor 9X Pro, which comes with a 20% discount, priced at £199.99, down from its RRP of £249.99 for one time only.

Additionally, hihonor will also mark the launch of Honor’s debut set of headphones, the Honor Magic Earbuds. Available at £89.99, they are the stand-out wireless and noise-cancelling earphones in their price bracket.

Available from the 21st of May:

  • Newly launched Honor 9X Pro to be available at £199.99 (RRP £249.99) at launch
  • Honor to unveil first earbuds (£89.99) as part of hihonor launch campaign
  • Honor Smartphones, MagicBook 14 and the MagicWatch 2 series all included in eye-catching promotions

Honor 9X Pro

The Honor 9X Pro is almost identical to the Honor 9X I reviewed back in December but the chipset has now been switched out to the Kirin 810 and the fingerprint scanner shifted to the side on the power button.

The swap of the chipset will offer a substantial improvement in the performance of the phone with the chipset using two Arm Cortex A76 cores and six A55 vs the four A73 and four A53 cores of the ageing Kirin 710F.

This reportedly allows the phone to achieve an Antutu score 66% higher, going from 187528 to 312668.

The downside to this spec change is that the Honor 9X Pro falls under the current restrictions placed on Huawei/Honor and therefore does not have Google Play Services. It should be possible to install Google yourself, but it is possible to get buy without Google, and many of the apps you already use can be found on 3rd party app stores, including the Huawei App Gallery which will be on the phone as standard.

Honor Magic Earbuds

The new Honor Magic Earbuds are a pair of true wireless earphones that offer a hybrid feed forward/feedback ANC solution offering up to 24dB of noise cancelation – or in layman’s terms I assume that means it is active noise cancellation combined with the noise cancelling effect of the silicon tips.

They offer 3.5 hours of continues music on one charge, which sounds a little low, but ANC headphones tend to be lower than normal. Then 13 hours total with the charging case.

Similar to the Huawei Freebuds 3 these have automatic earphone detection and rapid pairing if you are using a Huawei/Honor phone running EMUI 10.0 or higher.

The earphone then uses a 10mm driver unit which is about standard for this price.

It is worth noting that these are effectively the same as the recently launched Huawei FreeBuds 3i which launched for the same price.
