I enjoyed the Black Shark 2 but it was suspiciously similar in specs to the Xiaomi Mi 9. However, as the brand has grown, so has their ability to develop something unique.

Today Black Shark announced two new phones the Black Shark and the 3 Pro.

Sadly, there is no word of UK availability yet.

The new phones adopt a refined, but similar gaming design following last years models, however, the new tri-camera phone has the lenses arranges in a unique triangle shape.

As you would expect from a flagship gaming phone they both feature the Snapdragon 865 chipset and this is then combined with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 and 256GB of UFS 3.0 storage.

This model has a large 6.67-inch AMOLED panel with the industry’s first 270Hz touch sampling rate it then refreshes at 90Hz, a bit lower than some other recent phones

Black Shark 3 Pro

The Pro model ups the gaming ante with a tablet-sized 7.1-inch AMOLED panel with a Quad HD+ 3120 x 1440p resolution display.

It then adds two tactile physical buttons on the right side acting as shoulder buttons. The buttons are 21mm long and provide 1.5mm of keys tactile physical buttons on the right sidestroke.

Both phones have a 3.5mm headphone jack and they both have a special liquid “Sandwich Cooling system” that will give the phone performing at peak speeds for prolonged periods of time.

Both phones in the lineup get rid of a telephoto sensor in favour of an ultra-wide-angle sensor. The third sensor is a dedicated depth of field shooter. The primary camera gets upgraded from 48MP to 64MP and then add a 13MP ultra-wide sensor with a 5MP depth of field sensor.

The Black Shark 3 features a 4720mAh battery with 65W fast charging while the Pro version increases the battery size to 5000mAh with the same fast charging tech.
