Beginner Guide for CS GO Players

Sharing is caring!

CS: GO is known as the most famous shooter game in the world which, despite being around since 2012, is still gaining new players. To this day, people love and cherish the game and its features, and the fan base is increasing.

But considering all the features that Valve has been adding over the years, it’s a little overwhelming for new players to get used to the game. While it’s not rocket science, it’s annoying when you encounter experienced players who make you doubt your ability to learn how to play properly. So, how can you play better?

Before you get serious with CS: GO and before you bet on, take a look over this beginner guide.

  • Learn the Maps

CS: GO has a big number of maps from which you can choose from. Each map is unique and has hidden details, and just like that, every map has good spots that make it easier for you to come up with a strategy, while others are more difficult in this regard.

Also, developers are always updating the maps with new details too, which change the whole game. This is why you need to test each map and get to know them well enough to become a pro. Of course, being perfect on every map will be difficult, so focus on a select few for a while, then move to the others. With effort and patience, you will get over this obstacle.

  • Communicate

Nobody likes dealing with an uncooperative teammate, especially considering that your victory relies on how good your strategy is. If you’re playing with strangers, then you have to come to a decision together, or else you risk messing everything up and losing all matches.

The chat option has been added to make sure there’s enough communication between team members, so use this feature. You will see that it will help you a lot.

  • Learn About the Weapons

CS: GO has a vast amount of weapons that you can use during your games, and you need to know how each of them works. For example, an AK-47 will give you low recoil while being accurate and having a great fie rate. It may be a little difficult to get used to one, but you may have to at one point. There’s always time to buy weapons and equipment before rounds, so try different weapons and use them until you learn how they work. You will be grateful later.

  • Master the Game Types

You need to be aware of the different CS: GO game styles. These are usually split into two different map types.

In one of the game types, respectively the Hostage rescue maps, if you play as counter-terrorist, you will have to save one of the two hostages from the terrorists. This will help you win the round. You can also just kill the other team.

On the other hand, the game type known as Defuse includes a bomb that is planted by the terrorists. Winning is possible if one of the teams kills the other, or if the bomb is defused or detonated. Counter terrorists win if time runs out.

Final Thoughts

Advice is always welcome when you’re a beginner, even in CS: GO. Hopefully, these tips will help you get started with more confidence.
