Aukey recently sent me their 10 port USB 3.0 Hub to review which is an attractive (by hub standards) all aluminium design in a wedge shape, giving you forward facing easily accessible USB ports.
The hub is AC powered, so it comes with both a power adapter and USB cable to attached to your PC. While the design is attractive and usable, it is strange that Aukey has put the USB and power sockets on opposite ends of the device. They need to be next to each other and either on the back or just one side to make cable management easier. The supplied USB cable is very short too, for me my PC is on the floor and I want a USB hub to provide accessible ports away from my PC, not right next to it. I bought a 3-metre cable quite cheaply off Amazon to fix this issue, but it is an added expense.
The performance of the unit itself is decent, it does run a bit warm with lots of devices connected, but not worryingly so.
Comparing it to other 10 port hubs on Amazon it is both the best-looking hub and one of the most competitively priced, coming in at £20 cheaper than the uglier Anker model.
