Well, it is the 3rd time I have attended one of the Acer liver blogging events and so far this looks like it is going to be the best yet. Mainly due to the devices we have to play with. In the past a lot of the tech has focussed on low to mid end phones and tablets, and they were never bad at all, but it is a little hard to get excited about them at the same time.
This year things are totally different, everything is focussed on the Predator ranges, which if you are not aware is their gaming range of laptops. The star of the shows appears to be the monitors they have set up, one set up includes a tripple Predator Z35 ultra-wide monitor (£799) set up and it looks amazing, though probably too expensive and impractical for real life set-ups. There is also the slim bezel Predator X34 (£899) set up using one of Acers new gaming PCs, the Predator G6 (£1199.99) and this looks like something truly special.
The X35 has a resolution of 2560 x 1080 @144Hz but this can be overclocked to a staggering 200Hz
The X34 is a 34” curved NVIDIA G-Sync gaming IPS monitor running at 60Hz, 3440×1440
Both monitors are really fantastic to look at, and while I have not had much chance to test them fully, they both look like great buys for enthusiast gamers. If the X34 lives up to my initial impressions, I would genuinely consider buying one!
More pictures will follow but at the moment the WiFi in my room is shocking!
