Samsung Galaxy S2 : Rumours

Posted by skin On July - 19 - 2010

The Galaxy S hasn’t been with us long but the super 5 star rated blower is apparently getting an update early next year, according to Russian “internets” types. Now rumours are exactly what they are, RUMOURS but apparently the Ruskies are very much on the ball when it comes to mobile rumours and have gotten it right before. The one thing making this a certified rumour is the specs look amazing, a bit too good to be true. We’ll give you the rundown of what they said anyway, we can certainly hope it’s true.

The Galaxy S certainly packed some great specs but the S2 takes it to the next level. A bigger 4.3” 1280x720 screen (wow in itself) with 32GB of storage and the ability to add another 32GB from microSD. It will also pack A-GPS, Bluetooth 3.0 and N-standard WiFi. Camera wise you’re looking at 8MP but again the ability to shoot HD video. To tap into the iPhone 4 market it’ll have a similar style accelerometer/gyroscope feature. Now the rumour also states that by the time the phone’s due, next year, this mobile will be running Android OS 3 but also a massive 1GB of RAM.

Again the only thing with rumours is details, and we have none but I’m sure IF we get some more, we’ll pass them on :)

Beam me up Scotty : Samsung Beam almost here

Posted by skin On June - 22 - 2010

Sorry for the cheese but it had to be done. Remember the Beam we spoke about a while back , the first mobile phone to incorporate a so one can show their pics and vids onto a wall. Well back then it was just a prototype, now are unveiling it in Singapore next month so it can’t be too long before we can get our hands on it in Blighty and leave us all with “Beaming” smiles…………

As with the new-wave of mobiles it’s blasting us with a 3.7” screen for those super nice rich, bright colours and that wonderful Android OS. Connectivity wise you’re looking at HSDPA, 3G, Wi-Fi and the new Bluetooth 3.0. Packing an 8MP camera for good quality pics, it’ll also shoot HD video, a must for todays top smartphones. Now obviously what makes the Beam stand out is it has a mini , capable of 50” wide images at a brightness level of 9 lumens. It’ll also back a-GPS and a built in FM radio.

Obviously we wont have any prices till the networks announce it’s release but I’m glad to see this phone made it past prototype and hopefully will live up to it’s potential.

Samsung Galaxy S :Pre-Order on Vodafone

Posted by skin On June - 14 - 2010

The Galaxy is S is receiving a lot of good press from it’s screen, super fast processing abilities and above all its HD content. This week also saw the announcement of iPhone 4.0 and were quick to judge and slam the Cupertino’s baby’s screen, claiming it wasn’t a patch on their Galaxy S’s. Well now iPhone 4 is incoming, so to the Galaxy S, which you could essentially get in your hands by tomorrow (iPhone Pre-order starts tomorrow)

For a quick recap on the Galaxy S it has a 4” WVGA touchscreen runing that wonderful Android OS. There’s also the usual suspects too, HSDPA and WiFi connectivity and a 5MP camera which is capable of shooting HD video. Couple all this with a 1GHz processor and a file extension support that will make your PC blush, this is some serious kit.

are offering the phone on pretty much its standard new smartphone contracts. £35 a month for 24 months will get you the phone for nowt. If you only want an 18 month contract then you’re looking at £40 a month

Samsung Galaxy S : Fast Android Phone

Posted by skin On March - 29 - 2010

The Galaxy S looks like it’s aimed at killing off the Google Nexus One and looking at it’s spec and what say it does, it looks definitely worthy of the top “Droid” phone title which looked destined for the HTC Desire at the moment, but this one looks equally as good if not better.

Firstly it’s got a 4” WVGA screen, first seen on the Wave recently which is great if you’re outside in the sun with your phone(which in the UK may just be a luxury rather than an actual beneficial use!) It’s also packing a 5MP camera which is capable of snapping HD video. It will also have the usual GPS, Bluetooth etc all run with Android 2.1. However what will make this phone work fast is ’s own 1GHz processor sat under the hood.

Another thing which sets this phone aside is its multimedia capabilities. Available with 8GB or 16GB internal memory, this can also be extended via MicroSD. Media support is great with all your usual file extensions but also AVI, FLV and MKV compatibility. Still what’s more is its DLNA certified Wi-Fi. So yes media streaming is possible on the phone.

No details as for release or prices but has revealed it will be getting a worldwide release.

Mobile World Congress : Samsung Beam I8520

Posted by skin On February - 15 - 2010

Obviously are straight out the blocks with the future of their phones in Barcelona. After the Wave S8500 comes the I8520 “Beam” phone.

Again we’ll see the new this time at 3.7” of super sharp colourful greatness. However what differs this from the Wave is the “I” part of the model number. This means it’s OS will be Android. Packing a 5MP camera which shoots 720p video, 3G a-GPS and N-Standard WiFi.

What really makes this phone special though is sat right at the top of the phone……… A pico-! This allows you to show your videos and photos onto a white wall.It might well attract a business clientele is the ability to open MS Powerpoint documents and project them onto a wall, helping out in those board meetings and conferences. Now it won’t project HD video but you can hook it up to your HD telly and watch your captured movies.

Price and date are still TBC………

Mobile World Congress : Samsung Wave S8500

Posted by skin On February - 15 - 2010

With Mobile World Congress happening right now in Barcelona, expect a plethora of new mobile phone tech to bombard us over the coming week.

Firstly we have ’s Wave S8500. Basically this is the updated version of its popular Jet phone that debuted last year. What makes this better you ask? Well it’s Samsungs first phone to have its brand spanking new display. The original AMOLED screen was great, sharp details and deep colours, but was difficult to see in sunlight. Now that’s been dealt with what you’re getting is a 3.3” WVGA screen that works superbly.

Next its also the first phone announced that will use its brand new “Bada” operating system. This works alongside TouchWiz 3.0 to provide efficient touchscreen use and widgets with a high end smartphone UI. One thing that looks great is the “Social Hub”. This is a collective inbox that puts all your messages, whether they be from IM, text or email all into one inbox.

Loos wise its a lot like a thinner version of the Jet. Specs wise it’ll pack a 1GHz processor, 3G, Wi-Fi HSDPA and Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity, a 5MP camera capable of 720p HD video recording. It’ll also have GPS and have support for MP4, WMV, DivX and H.263 and H.264.

No prices yet but we’re looking at a release time of April.
