Vivo Xplay 3S 6” Phablet with 2k Display + Finger Reader
Vivo is not particularly a household name in the UK but it is one of a few Chinese companies that are churning out some mightily impressive phones. Vivo has just announced the Xplay 3S which is an Android phablet that is the first device to feature a 6” (2,560 x 1,440) display, which works out at a very high 490ppi density.
The screen is not the only thing worth bragging about, as the phone comes with 2 audio chips, a ESS Technology’s ES9018 DAC and Texas Instruments’ OPA2604 amplifier, both of which are said to be the crème de la crème in their respective categories. The phablet also has a built-in DTS Headphone:X feature that brings 7.1 or even 11.1 surround sound effect to your stereo headphones; plus Vivo’s video streaming service already hosts about 200Headphone:X-capable movies (along with over 400 movies in 1080p and over 1,000 movies in 720p), with more to be added each month.
The rest of the phablet is also impressive with a 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, a 3,200mAh battery plus support for both TD-LTE and FDD-LTE. One the rear of the phone you will find a fingerprint reader which will let you unlock the device and sensitive documents
There is no official word on availability or if it will reach western shores but the price is currently CN¥3,498/ £351 /$580
