Qualcomm’s 1.3GHz QSD8650A Snapdragon

by James on June 1, 2009

The 1GH processor stole our hearts with the Toshiba TG01 and now are releasing an ever better chipset.

Qualcomm will be releasing the 1.3GHz chipset on the market for sampling before the end of 2009 which should mean we should start seeing smartphones and smartbooks using this chipset by 2010.

The new chipset is 30% faster while using 30% less power (and just 10 milliwatts in standby) due to the 45-nm fabrication process.

The new chipset supports multi-mode UMTS and CDMA 3G, enhanced 2D acceleration and 3D graphics core, integrated GPS, high-def video recording and playback, Bluetooth 2.1, Wi-Fi, and support for WXGA (1280×800 pixels) and MediaFLO, DVBH, or ISDB-T digital mobile television.

Now if only someone would combine this with NVIDIA Tegra, a load of internal memory + Android I would be one happy guy.
