Qualcomm Launches Snapdragon 805 processor with ‘Ultra HD’ video
The Snapdragon 800 CPU is still relatively new, but Qualcomm has already announced its successor the Snapdragon 805. The main selling point of the new processor is the ability to play UltraHD. So at last your 5″ smartphone can play video in 4k!
The processors comes with he latest Adreno 420 GPU, which Qualcomm claims has as much as 40 percent more graphics horsepower than previous models. It also has the Krait 450 CPU which has 4 cores running up to 2.5gz and communicate with memory at 25.6 GB/second max.
Last but not least is the 28nm Gobi MDM9x25 modem which will support 4G/LTE carrier aggregation and 150Mbps LTE 4.
Unfortunately as they have only just announced the chip we wont likely see any devices using it until late 2014.
I wish batteries would improve as fast as processors!
