YouTube may show full Sony movies
YouTube is said to be in talks with Sony Pictures about licensing full-length movies for distribution via the popular video sharing site.
YouTube already has deals in place that allow it to show full music videos (except the UK!) TV segments from several US networks including ESPN, ABC and Disney and some movies owned by MGM.
It is believed that YouTube will be requesting to show the movies for free which are paid for via advertising.
Unfortunately the outlook doesn’t look great for us Brits as copyright law varies region to region and it is likely the deal will be restricted to US users only!
