The evolution of mobile gaming
The dawn of the mobile gaming era
Not so long ago, back in the 1980s, the hottest gaming device around was the Nintendo Gameboy. This electronic wonder revolutionised gaming as we know it, as players could now partake in their favourite games no matter where they were.
In today’s modern gaming terms, the Gameboy is akin to an ancient relic, and destined to spend eternity as a museum curiosity. Mobile gaming has truly moved in leaps and bounds since those Gameboy days, primarily due to the advent of smart mobile phones and tablets, and the adaption of mobile games to these formats.
In fact, it could be argued that mobile gaming is even challenging the traditional strongholds of home gaming consoles, as more and more people vote for the convenient and simplified gaming experience provided by a mobile device.
Nearly an entire industry of people has grown up in the mobile gaming era, and the very best mobile gaming specialists and gaming studios have revolutionised this format, which now includes far superior gameplay and graphics.
The iPhone and Android devices have arguably maginalised traditional gaming devices such as Sony PSP and Nintendo DS, for a variety of reasons, including content that is more easily available, better processors and screens, and abundant connectivity.
Importantly, mobile games are also cheaper to produce, and allow one to conveniently access features such as mobile casinos, where players can win money at the touch of a button and take part in some of the best casino promotions.
While traditional methods of gaming such as PCs and game consoles still rule the roost, mobile gaming undoubtedly represents the future of the industry.
